SPLM-N accuses SAF of mobilizing forces to

attack areas under its control in South Kordofan

The Civil Authority affiliated with the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North (SPLM-N) revealed on Wednesday that the Sudanese Army is mobilizing to attack areas under the Movement’s control in the Karkaria Oil Station, Hajr al-Jawad and Kargal axis.

The first secretary of the Civil Authority in the areas under the control of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North, Arno Ngutulu Lodi, shared in a statement to “Sudan Tribune” that “Currently, the Port Sudan government is mobilizing its forces to attack areas under the control of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North in the Karkaria Oil Station, Hajr al-Jawa and Kargal axis.”

He considered the Sovereignty Council’s approval to open airports, including Kadugli Airport, to relief flights as a cover-up for these movements and an obstruction of the tasks of the United Nations’ relief agencies that succeeded in delivering aid to the region during the past weeks.

He added: “The Sudanese government has reneged on its commitments and wants to mislead regional and international public opinion through the statement.”

Arno Ngutulu Lodi stressed that the most recent four airdrops for Kadugli and Dalang areas by the government were weapons, ammunition and military equipment dropped to its forces in the headquarters of the 14th Division in Kadugli and the 54th Brigade in Dalang.

Whereas (25.6) million Sudanese are suffering from severe hunger, including (8.5) million people facing famine-like conditions, while the number of those suffering from malnutrition is rapidly increasing following the ongoing conflict that destroyed livelihoods in rural and urban areas.

Lodi reported the unwillingness of what he called the Port Sudan government to address the humanitarian crisis and the continuation of suffering due to the obstacles it continues to place in the way of efforts put forth by agencies and organizations working in the field of humanitarian work.

The Civil Authority for the New Sudan renewed its commitment to securing and protecting humanitarian convoys in accordance with its understandings with the agencies and organizations concerned.

The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North calls the areas it controls in South Kordofan state the “Nuba Mountains Region,” which covers an area of (138,000) square kilometers. While the areas in Blue Nile are known as the “New Funj Region,” which covers an area of (83,500) square kilometers.
