Widespread condemnation of SAF bombing the UAE
Ambassador's residence in Khartoum
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and several countries condemned the Sudanese Armed Forces’ bombing of UAE Ambassador’s residence in Khartoum, amid widespread denunciation of terrorist acts and violence against diplomatic headquarters protected by international agreements.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Kuwait and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in addition to Egypt expressed their deep concern over the Sudanese Armed Forces’ bombing of UAE Ambassador’s residence in Khartoum.
A Terrorist Act
Jasem Mohamed AlBudaiwi, Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), condemned what he called the blatant attack that targeted the head of the UAE Mission’s headquarters in Sudan.
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council shared in a statement that “The attack caused serious damage to the building,” calling for all efforts to be made to protect diplomatic facilities and their workers.
The Secretary-General stressed that this attack represents “A flagrant violation of the basic principle of the sanctity of diplomatic buildings.”
Similarly, he stressed the importance of protecting diplomatic buildings and embassy personnel, in accordance with the norms and charters that govern and regulate diplomatic work.
He also expressed his “Strong condemnation of this attack, and the GCC’s permanent and firm rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism that aim to destabilize security and stability and are inconsistent with the International Law.”
Saudi Arabia Condemns
For its part, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia condemned the targeting of the headquarters of the UAE Ambassador to Sudan, and the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s condemnation and denunciation of the targeting of the headquarters of the UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Sudan, which is a violation of International Law.
The ministry affirmed the Kingdom’s rejection of these violations, as well as all forms of violence against diplomats, stressing the need to provide protection for diplomats and respect the headquarters of diplomatic missions in compliance with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
Vienna Convention
The State of Kuwait also condemned the attack on the head of the UAE Mission’s headquarters in Khartoum, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Kuwait’s condemnation of the attack on the headquarters of the UAE Ambassador in Khartoum, stressing its rejection of such violations of international laws and norms.
The State of Kuwait stressed the importance of respecting the sanctity of diplomatic missions and providing them with full protection, in accordance with the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961.
Brutal Aggression
For its part, the Sultanate of Oman condemned the attack on the headquarters of the UAE Mission in Khartoum, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Sultanate of Oman’s condemnation of the attack that targeted the head of the UAE Mission’s headquarters in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs shared in a statement: “The Sultanate of Oman condemns these attacks, which are a clear violation of the charters, norms and diplomatic immunities granted to diplomatic buildings and diplomatic envoys. The Sultanate of Oman condemns the brutal attack on the UAE embassy in Khartoum.”
A Serious Violation
The Jordanian Foreign Ministry expressed its strong rejection of what it called the targeting of the UAE embassy in Khartoum, which it said caused serious damage to the building.
The official spokesman for the Ministry, Ambassador Dr. Sufyan Al-Qudah, confirmed the Kingdom’s condemnation and absolute rejection of this attack on the headquarters of the UAE ambassador in Khartoum, which represents a serious violation of international law and an assault on the sanctity of diplomatic premises protected by the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. Al-Qudah expressed the Kingdom’s full solidarity and support for the sisterly United Arab Emirates.
An Absolute Rejection
In the same context, the State of Qatar condemned the Sudanese Army’s attack on the headquarters of the UAE Ambassador in Khartoum, and the Qatari Foreign Ministry expressed its condemnation of the attack on the headquarters of the UAE ambassador in Khartoum, and affirmed its absolute rejection of the violation of international laws and norms.
The State of Qatar stressed the importance of respecting the sanctity of diplomatic missions and providing them with full protection, in accordance with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961.
Egypt Condemns
In addition, the official spokesman for the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration expressed Egypt’s concern over the recent developments in Sudan, including the bombing of the headquarters of the UAE Ambassador in Khartoum, and announced Egypt’s condemnation of the incident.
