Following fierce battles the RSF repel an Army attack on Khartoum
The Rapid Support Forces repelled an attack by the Sudanese Armed Forces on a number of axes to enter Khartoum, and inflicted heavy losses in lives and equipment on the attacking force.
A field commander of the Rapid Support Forces told (Assayha) that our forces are still in their positions in Khartoum after repelling what he described as a failed attack on Khartoum, adding, “The remnants were completely crushed.” He explained that Army Forces along with the Islamist battalions attempted to infiltrate across the bridges from Omdurman to Khartoum, and across the Nile with a number of ferries, stressing that the Rapid Support Forces thwarted what he called the remnants’ desperate venture.
The Rapid Support Forces have imposed their control over the vast majority of Khartoum state’s territory with its three cities (Khartoum – Bahri – Omdurman) since the earlier months of the war that has been raging since April of last year.
