Tagadom condemns drone attack on a passenger bus
that killed dozens south of Khartoum
The the Coordination-body of the Democratic and Civil Forces “Tagadom” condemned the attack on a passenger bus with a drone belonging to the Sudanese Army in “Taiba al-Hasnab” area, south of the capital, Khartoum, which resulted in dozens of passengers burning to death, including a large number of children.
The bus was heading from the city of (Rabak) in the White Nile state to Khartoum, and this attack is part of a series of repeated incidents targeting civilians since the outbreak of war in Sudan on the 15th of April 2023.
In a statement issued by its media committee, (Tagadom) mourned the victims of the incident and expressed its solidarity with their families, stressing the need to conduct an urgent investigation into the crime and identify those responsible for it, in order to bring them to justice. The Coordination-body described the attack as a “War crime” that targeted civilians and children.
The Coordination-body also called on the two parties to the conflict, the Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces, to stop targeting and harassing civilians on ethnic or political grounds.
It affirmed its support for extending the mandate of the International Fact-Finding Mission, considering that the time has come to take strict international measures to stop the war that has threatened the lives of millions with famine and diseases.
The statement called on the regional and international communities to take immediate and serious action to end the war, achieve peace, freedom and justice, and to achieve democratic civilian rule in Sudan.
