The Inflation Rate rises to 218% in August
The Central Bureau of Statistics announced on Thursday, that the rate of change in prices (inflation) for the month of August rose to (218.18%) compared to (193.94%) recorded in July 2024.
The annual inflation rate is measured by the change in the general pricing for the current month compared to its counterpart last year, which means measuring the change in prices over the extent of a full year.
The Central Bureau of Statistics shared in a statement that “The annual rate of change in prices for the month of August recorded (218.18%) compared to its counterpart in the previous year.”
The statement indicated that the inflation rate in urban areas for the month of August reached (189.38%), while recording (237.70%) in rural areas compared to the previous year.
