Dozens killed and wounded in air strikes on Nyala
The Sudanese Army’s warplanes launched airstrikes on the city of Nyala, killing and wounding people, completely destroying the headquarters of the Ministry of Social Welfare as well as a number of homes.
Citizens from Nyala told “Assayha” that the warplanes bombed the city of Nyala at exactly one o’clock in the afternoon on Monday with three barrel bombs.
They added that one of the barrels fell on the old detention centers of the Security Service located in front of its headquarters. Which led to the injury of a large number of prisoners, ranging from Army officers and soldiers to civilian suspects and detainees due to committing violations.
They stated that the second barrel fell on the Police headquarters building (The Commandant) and led to the injury and death of a number of civilians, especially in the “rickshaw parking lot” east of the Legislative Council. They shared that the third barrel fell on the industrial area and resulted in injuries and deaths, one of whom was a child.
The warplanes bombed the city of Nyala last Thursday, targeting areas adjacent to the headquarters of the Military Division and parts of Al-Jeir and the Seventh Brigade neighborhoods, which resulted in the collapse of a number of buildings.
The Military warplanes continue their daily bombing of Darfur, especially East, Central, North and South Darfur.
The Rapid Support Forces control the states of South, Central and East Darfur as well as large parts of North Darfur State.
