Ethiopia deals the Sudanese Aviation a severe blow
Ethiopian Airlines announced the prices of airline tickets from Sudan to a number of countries that will be applied in early October, which represents a severe blow to Sudanese Airlines that have doubled ticket prices to record numbers amidst a crisis that the Sudanese people are experiencing due to the war raging between the Army and the Rapid Support Forces since April of last year.
Ethiopian Airlines announced that prices will start from (557,000 to 858,000) pounds for flights from Port Sudan to Addis Ababa and Dubai, Muscat, Jeddah, India, and Kuwait, which is less than half the prices listed by Sudanese companies.
In addition, they announced their intention to start operating daily flights to Port Sudan, Sudan, starting the 1st of October.
Ethiopian Airlines attributed the reduction in ticket prices to its strategic expansion plan aimed at strengthening Ethiopia’s connection to the African continent and the rest of the world, with a focus on supporting regional economic and social growth, as well as facilitating the flow of trade and tourism.
They explained that this new route will provide convenient travel options for passengers between Ethiopia and Sudan, while enabling the city of Port Sudan to be connected via the company’s extensive global network.
