Washington: (25) million people face
forms of acute hunger in Sudan
The US Special Envoy for Sudan, Tom Perriello, revealed that (25) million Sudanese are facing forms of acute hunger due to the war that has been raging since April of last year.
Perriello stated that he and Isobel Coleman, Deputy Administrator of the US Agency for International Development (USAID), discussed with representatives of the Sudanese Doctors Association in America and the Sudanese American Public Affairs Association (SAPAA), the Geneva talks and their views on the efforts needed to achieve peace.
The US Special Envoy for Sudan added, “We share the Sudanese community’s deep commitment to delivering aid to (25) million people facing acute hunger and about one million people at levels of famine, and ending the violence.”
