Moral Corruption !!

Sabah Mohammed Al-Hassan

They have an appetite that goes hand in hand with corruption..
In which the constant desire relies on the weakness of the homeland without any human feelings pulsating within them, and everything around them might awaken except their consciences !!

On Thursday, Reuters published a serious news item revealing the investigation being conducted by the Office of the Inspector General of the World Food Programme (OIG). It explained that the investigation is being conducted due to the disappearance of fuel supplies in Sudan, and reporting about an ongoing urgent review into accusations of mismanagement and misconduct by individuals in connection with violations in operations in Sudan.

The investigations included the disappearance of more than (200,000) liters of the UN Organization’s fuel in the Sudanese city of “Kosti.”

Two senior officials in Sudan are being investigated on allegations including fraud and concealing information from donors about their ability to deliver food aid to civilians amidst the severe hunger crisis in Sudan.

Reuters stated that investigators are looking into whether WFP employees sought to cover up a suspected role for the Sudanese Army and that among the individuals being investigated is the WFP’s Deputy country Director in Sudan, who was given a “temporary duty assignment” outside Sudan, which is considered an effective suspension of his duties.

A second senior official, the Director of the Programme’s office in the city of “Kosti,” is also being investigated in connection with the disappearance of more than (200,000) liters of the organization’s fuel in the city.

This information is an affront, indicating the possible involvement of the Port Sudan government in the worst act of moral corruption, stealing aid at a time when the country is witnessing the largest humanitarian disaster that has shaken the entire world and millions of people need humanitarian aid due to the famine crisis.

In a country that is being ravaged by war and is suffering from the greatest threat of food shortages in the world.

The encroachment on humanitarian aid, looting, selling and tampering with it has been happening since the first month of the war when the Finance Minister Gibril Ibrahim was involved in changing relief aid trucks and altering their destination. A number of individuals from the Port Sudan government are involved in looting the country’s imports and exports, and this is the biggest reason why Al-Kizani government insists on the continuation of the war.

What these people have done in terms of legalized theft may prompt the US Agency for International Development to stop the organization’s work due to the immortality and vile behavior displayed by officials in Sudan.

It is rather well-known that last year, the WFP and USAID suspended food distribution operations in Ethiopia due to reports of widespread theft of humanitarian aid there.

The Agency shared about receiving a notification from the WFP on the 20th of August regarding possible fraud incidents affecting the WFP’s operations in Sudan, especially since the Agency is the largest single donor to the Programme, providing nearly half of the contributions annually.

We have previously spoke about those who invest in war, the crisis merchants, but it is unfortunate that there are figures related to the Sudanese Army and Port Sudan government accused of crimes of moral corruption in relation to the theft of humanitarian aid at a time when the population is suffering the darkest and worst humanitarian conditions while the Army refuses to negotiate.

Is the continuation of the war only to further the journey of corruption with unlimited ambitions !!

Peculiarly, a few days ago, on his page on the “x” platform, Minni Arcua Minnawi referred to the theft of fuel, but he directly accused the Rapid Support Forces and people didn’t pay much attention to his claims.

However, for the accusation to extend to the Army by accusing two leaders affiliated with the government of cooperating with it, this is a scandal, especially since working in such organizations and international positions is based on moral principles, so this is the disgrace that incites feelings of regret and embarrassment, but they aren’t ashamed at all !!

In Conclusion:

#No_to_War

Did Egypt fail to convince General Al-Burhan of the necessity of negotiations ? And what did its presence in the international mediation seats add to the situation !!
