How to eliminate the RSF’s (Social Incubator) ?!

Zuhair Al-Sarraj

The Army leaders, along with some individuals, talk about defeating the (rebel militia), defeating it and liberating the country, heading the list of people making that declaration is the Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Army, who kept repeating that “There will be no negotiations, no peace and no ceasefire until the rebels are defeated and the country is liberated from them,” as he stated a few weeks ago in front of a military gathering in River Nile state, as if they were talking about foreign forces or an external enemy.

Forgetting, ignoring, or (feigning ignorance) that those they’re talking about defeating and liberating the country from are one of the components of the social fabric of this country. In fact, they’re the largest component by far, as their numbers exceed six million people, and in some estimates more than eight million people. If we were to add their cousins from the other components, that number would easily add up to more than eleven million people.

They are one of the largest and most ancient social components of Sudan that expands to most parts of Sudan and almost occupies the entire western region of Sudan from the far north to the far south. In addition, their intellectuals, educated people, individuals residing throughout Sudan who have mixed with other social components and made great contributions that no one can argue or debate about to the history of Sudan and in all other fields.

They also represent a large number of Sudanese abroad, and let me here abandon diplomacy and embarrassment and apply the appropriate vocabulary, using the word (tribe) instead of the expressions (social component) or (Social Incubator) as we and some others have adopted its use in reference to tribes, in order to distance ourselves from racism and tribalism!

Everyone knows that the backbone of the Rapid Support Forces is the (Rezeigat) tribe and its cousins from other tribes such as the (Messiria) tribe. No one can deny or argue these facts. They are among the largest and most ancient Sudanese tribes, they have various significant contributions in all fields in Sudan, as I mentioned previously, and its rather sufficient that the liberation of Sudan and Khartoum from the Turkish rule in the nineteenth century under the leadership of Imam (Mohammed Ahmad al-Mahdi) wouldn’t have happened without the assistance of these tribes that were known for their ferocity, strength, severity and courage in combat !

However, disregarding the veiled references, I wonder; Is it possible to defeat the (Rezeigat) tribe as well as their cousins from other tribes and liberate Sudan from them, as they are huge, authentic and impudent Sudanese tribes that have a presence in Sudan like the rest of the tribes and other social components ?

Is it permissible to expel and liberate Sudan from Sudanese tribes and Sudanese citizens, unless those who repeat this crude and irrational statement are talking about a heinous racist war of genocide (similar to the civil war in Rwanda) in which the (Rezeigat) tribe and its cousins are being exterminated in order to defeat the Rapid Support Forces.

At this juncture, its rather imperative to mention Al-Kizan’s persistent attempts since the outbreak of the war to mobilize citizens under the pretext of Popular Resistance with the aim of expanding the circle of war and moving it to the stages of civil war (tribes of the Center and North fighting against tribes of the West). The ugly racist and deliberately inciting language of Al-Kizani media mouthpieces, in addition to the violations and arrests that citizens of the west are exposed to in the areas controlled by the Army on charges of cooperating with the Rapid Support Forces, most of which are false accusations.

A few days ago, the so-called (Abdul Hayy Youssef) issued a fatwa permitting aerial bombardment of the Rapid Support Forces’ social incubator, and he is referring to the (Rezeigat) tribe and its cousins from other tribes!

However, if the Army, which failed at the height of its power to eliminate the rebellion in the South (1955 – 1971 and 1983 – 2005), as well as the rebellion in Darfur (2003, 2004 and to this day) despite its fragility (the Justice and Equality Movement and the Sudan Liberation Movement). The Army had to resort to recruiting the Rapid Support Forces to fight on its behalf. A similar scenario took place in South Kordofan and the Nuba Mountains (2011 – to this day) where the Rapid Support Forces were also recruited to assist the Army, for various reasons, the most important of which is that the existence of a social incubator feeds the rebellion.

Could this weak and -currently- disintegrated Army alongside its allies in the opportunistic Armed Movements that fight for money and personal interests, taking into consideration the failure of the Popular Resistance project that has only produced weak terrorist groups with no significant military weight; defeat the rebellion whose social incubator includes more than (8) million people and liberate Sudan from them, when they’re famous for their ferocity and valor in combat ?!

Even if the Army was so strong and legendary that it could defeat the rebellion and liberate Sudan from it, as the defeated leaders kept repeating, would the world allow a genocidal war and a human tragedy to happen again in Africa ?!

As for what the remnants’ thought process of separating and dividing Sudan as they did before with the South, so they could have the final say in what is called (Hamdi Triangle) or (the river and sea State), neither the deteriorating economic situation nor the geopolitical, regional situation or the strong rejection they’re faced with locally and abroad, not even the social structure in Sudan would allow that ..!

* The only option they have.. is to submit to negotiations or be defeated and eliminated forever !
