RSF delegation discusses with MSF facilitation of humanitarian aid flow

On Tuesday, the Rapid Support Forces negotiating delegation, led by Brig. Gen. Omar Hamdan, met with “Doctors Without Borders” Organization in the Swiss capital, Geneva. The meeting discussed with the organization’s envoy to the United Nations, Marie Elisabeth, and the Director of Emergency Operations at the French Doctors Without Borders Organization, Michel Lacharité, joint cooperation between parties and facilitating the flow of humanitarian aid provided by the organization to the Sudanese citizens affected by war and natural disasters.

The Rapid Support Forces delegation explained to “Doctors Without Borders” organization the outcomes of the second round of “Geneva” talks, the humanitarian obligations and protection of civilians during the ongoing war in Sudan.

The head of the delegation, Brig. Gen. Omar Hamdan, expressed his appreciation for the invitation extended by “Doctors Without Borders,” the remarkable support provided by the organization, and the efforts made by the organization’s team under war conditions.

He promised further cooperation and coordination to facilitate the organization’s work in areas controlled by the Rapid Support Forces.

The head of the negotiating delegation, Omar Hamdan affirmed the commitment of the Rapid Support Forces leadership to provide all necessary cooperation to continue the organization’s efforts in providing aid to the Sudanese citizens affected by the war.

For her part, Mary Elisabeth announced that the organization will increase the funding required to expand its operations in all areas controlled by the Rapid Support Forces, including resuming work in some hospitals in Khartoum.

The Director of Emergency Operations at the French Doctors Without Borders Organization, Michel Lacharité, explained the challenges facing the organization’s work, especially protecting humanitarian workers and facilitating the delivery of medical and food supplies. He welcomed the release of two trucks from the “Kabkabiya” area to “Zamzam” Camp, noting that what happened was due to poor coordination and entry without notifying the Sudan Agency for Relief and Humanitarian Operations (SARHO). Michel Lacharité promised to improve the level of communication and coordination during the next stage.
