(200) Tigray Mercenaries captured by the Rapid Support Forces
Last Saturday, following fierce battles in the Eastern part of the country, Al-Faw axis to be exact, in the state of El-Gedaref, the Rapid Support Forces seized (200) Ethiopian mercenaries affiliated with the Tigray Front, fighting alongside the Sudanese Army.
The Commander of the Fifth Infantry Division in Wad Medani, Maj. Gen. Abu Aqlah Kikel, said that the forces’ readiness made it possible to repel the attack of the Army and its brigades on their defensive positions in Al-Faw axis. In addition, the valiant soldiers of the Rapid Support Forces “Al-Ashaws” were able to capture more than (200) Ethiopian mercenaries belonging to the Tigray Front, which the defeated and expelled Army used for assistance in their war against the Rapid Support Forces. A large number of weapons, various ammunitions and documents were seized by the “RSF”, while fugitives are being pursued as well.
He added: “Our forces dealt with the POWs in accordance with international human and POWs rights law, in implementation of the directives of the Leader of Change, 1st Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Rapid Support Forces.”
Major General, Abu Aqlah Kikel praised the great roles played by the groups and force leaders in the state that continue to guard the borders in all regions and monitor the movements of the Army, foreign mercenaries, and sleeper cells, creating stable conditions, securing people’s lives, and enhancing the provision of necessary services, despite the remnants’ Army targeting vital facilities and citizens’ homes with warplanes and acts of sabotage carried out by sleeper shadow terrorist brigades within the cities to increase the suffering of Sudanese citizens.
