Al-Burhan Assassination Attempt
On Wednesday, the Army Commander-in-Chief, Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan survived an assassination attempt in Gebeit, Red Sea state.
Two drones bombed the headquarters where a military graduation ceremony attended by Al-Burhan in the area of Gebeit was taking place, before he was evacuated from the area amid reports of his injury.
According to sources who spoke to “Assayha”, both drones exploded a few meters away from the Army Commander, Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan.
The source shared that the National Congress Party, the faction of Lt. Gen. Yasser Al-Atta within the Army, is behind the assassination attempt against the backdrop of Al-Burhan’s acceptance of the Egyptian invitation as well as the confirmation of his desire to participate in the “Geneva” negotiations.
