In the early days of the “Inqaz” regime, the hard-line Islamic leader Nafie Ali Nafie was accused of assassinating the famous martyr doctor, Ali Fadul, under torture inside one of the (Ghost Houses).
The crime of assassinating Dr. Ali Fadul on the 21st of April 1990 shook the public conscience in Sudan with its brutality.
The Security authorities and Forensic Medical Services that performed the autopsy at the time attempted to delude the family of Dr. Ali Fadul to believe that he died of a temporary illness, however, re-investigations into the case revealed the falsity and invalidity of the medical report, proving that the man was killed under severe torture.
Nafie Ali Nafie, one of the defunct regime’s influential leaders in the Coup, was the Director of the Security Service at the time. He committed and executed the heinous crime of killing Dr. Ali Fadul.
