The Sudanese Embassy in “Iran” Opened
The Foreign Minister of the de facto government in Port Sudan restored diplomatic relations with Iran after an 8-year hiatus by opening a Sudanese Embassy in Iran.
The Foreign Minister of the de facto government, Hussein Awad Ali, opened the headquarters of the Sudanese Embassy in the Iranian capital, Tehran, in the presence of the Sudanese Ambassador to Tehran, Abdul Aziz Hassan Saleh.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Army, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, restored diplomatic relations with Tehran after an 8-year hiatus, trying to win Tehran’s favor to provide him with weapons in the Army’s ingoing war against the Rapid Support Forces.
During the recent period, the Rapid Support Forces shot down Iranian aircraft and drones, as well as seized weapons from Army Forces’ possession.
A number of Iranian military aircrafts landed in Port Sudan carrying shipments of weapons that were delivered to the Sudanese Army.
Observers noted that the Army restored relations with Iran, upon direct orders from leaders of the former regime, and expressed their concerns regarding terrorist operations and the spread of extremists in Sudan.
