Military intelligence attacks the headquarters of
an Armed Movement in "Kassala"
The Eastern Sudan Liberation Movement stated that an Armed Force from the Sudanese Army raided its headquarters in the “Al-Khatmiyya” neighborhood in the city of Kassala, arrested the official of the Movement’s office, Wad Al-Helio, and took him to an unknown location.
The Movement accused Military Intelligence of pursuing arbitrary issues and battles.
The Movement affirmed that it would continue to combat hate speech, and confront those aiming to sow discord among the social components of the region, explaining that the unity of the people of the region is its first priority.
The Movement was established last year and its forces are being trained in camps within the territory of the neighboring country of Eritrea.
Eritrea is hosting four training camps for forces from Eastern Sudan, including the Beja Congress forces led by Musa Mohammed Ahmed, the United Popular Front for Liberation and Justice led by El Amin Dawood, and Mohammad Tahir Beitai, head of the National Movement for Justice and Development in Eastern Sudan.
