Armed Movements’ members rape (3) girls

in a Camp in El-Fasher

The Civil Administration of the “Abuja” Camp for displaced persons in the city of El-Fasher, North Darfur state, announced today “Monday” that three girls -including a minor- were raped at the hands of members of one of the Armed Movements allied with the Sudanese Army – the Sudan Liberation Movement – Minnawi Faction.

A member of the Camp’s Civil Administration -who preferred to withhold his identity for security reasons- stated, according to “Darfur 24” that: “Six armed individuals wearing Military uniforms bearing the markings of the Sudan Liberation Movement took three girls the day before yesterday, Saturday, at noon, on their way back from the (Naivasha) market to an abandoned house in the (Abu Sekin) neighborhood, before they took turns raping them.”

The civil leader explained that the Civil Administration, headed by Umda Adam Yahya and with the assistance of the “RSF” Commander in the camp, were able to apprehend the accused and they were subsequently placed in a prison affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces.

A member of the victims’ families revealed to “Darfur 24” that the girls were treated at the home of a former medical assistant at the “Abuja” health center after the center went out of service.

The “Abuja” Camp for displaced persons is witnessing a slew of continuous complaints of violations committed by members of the Armed Movements, including looting the homes of displaced persons who fled due to the deteriorating security conditions in the camp as a result of the clashes taking place in the city of El Fasher.
