The “Joint Force” loots Citizens’ homes in El-Fasher
Residents in the city of El-Fasher, North Darfur state, shared that the Armed Movements known as the “Joint Force” and allied with the Sudanese Army looted the homes of hundreds of citizens in the city after the residents fled due to the battles.
A citizen in the city of El-Fasher said that “The Armed Movements allied with the Army in El-Fasher looted the homes of the citizens who fled the city due to the battles”. She added, “The looting incidents of empty houses are a daily continuous occurrence at this point, and in case they find residents inside the homes, they are robbed at gun point.”
She reported witnessing several times military SUVs with a number of soldiers riding in them, breaking the doors of houses and looting furniture as well as belongings.
Local media outlets explained that, Munira Mahmoud, a citizen from the “Timanat” neighborhood, adjacent to “Al-Jeel”, stated that she lost a TV screen, a refrigerator, and some belongings that were in the house after she and her family fled to “Zamzam” Camp.
She confirmed that her daughters found the house’s belongings offered for sale in “Zamzam” Market by members of the Armed Movements.
A Military leader in the Sudanese Armed Forces and Commander of one of the checkpoints confirmed that they had received numerous complaints from citizens regarding thefts that affected their homes in neighborhoods where the “Joint Force” is responsible for the security and protection in the area.
