Port Sudan’s main transformers malfunction
forces severe outages to be scheduled
The Sudanese Electricity Distribution Company announced scheduled outages in the city of Port Sudan, Red Sea State, due to a major malfunction in the main transformers.
The Company announced its intention to provide an alternative transformer from another station, after the failure to transfer one of the spare transformers from the Suakin Conversion Station, due to the refusal of the citizens of Suakin to move the transformer to Port Sudan.
The Company apologized for the scheduled outages program in the city of Port Sudan, and confirmed that its making intensive efforts to complete the work on an emergency transformer.
The Company urged the citizens to put forth efforts into rationalizing the use of electricity and avoid hours of loadshedding to ensure a stable electrical current.
