A leader in the Communist Party arrested in Shendi
Excessive acts of repression against citizens in areas under the Sudanese Army’s control
The Military Intelligence in the city of Shendi, River Nile state, arrested Amal Al-Zein, a leader in the Communist Party, taking her to an unknown location, in addition to preventing her family and fellow lawyers from visiting her.
Leaders and members of civilian political parties, journalists as well as citizens in areas under the Army’s control are faced with the constant threats of arrest, extrajudicial assassination, arbitrary accusations and continuous human rights violations.
The Security authorities and Islamist brigades in areas under the control of the Army are launching campaigns of arrests and intimidation of citizens and effectively preventing them from providing any statements about the war to the Rapid Support Forces.
