The Rapid Support Forces shared in a statement yesterday that: “Al-Burhan’s militia and the terrorist ousted regime’s holdouts continued their incessant barrage of revenge attacks and crimes against innocent civilians. Yesterday, on the 9th of June 2024, Al-Burhan’s militia aircrafts carried out retaliatory raids targeting “Al-Koma” locality in North Darfur.
The aerial bombardment resulted in the death and injury of a number of civilians, including children and women, the exact number of which is yet to be determined. The treacherous attack led to the destruction of a number of homes as well as the city’s mosque.
Yesterday’s air strike is the sixth of its kind, with the city of “Al-Koma” being bombarded with missiles from the Army’s warplanes.
Civilian and Human rights organizations condemned the Sudanese Army’s indiscriminate and incessant bombing of civilian infrastructure, demanding that Army leaders be held accountable for crimes they described as “inhumane”, considering the continued bombing a challenge to international warnings not to target civilians, especially women, children and the elderly.
