A Sudanese journalist receives death threats
The Sudanese journalist Sabah Ahmed received death threats from individuals on social media, accusing her of supporting the Rapid Support Forces.
The Sudanese Journalists Syndicate condemned the threats against journalists and declared its stance in full solidarity and support for journalist Sabah Ahmed.
The Syndicate shared in a statement on Friday, its condemnation of such behavior, and declared its stance in full solidarity and support for journalist Sabah Ahmed.
The Sudanese Journalists Syndicate also disclosed that similar threats were made against journalist Zamzam Khater in Uganda. The Syndicate demanded provision of the necessary protection for journalist Zamzam as well as journalist Saleh Abu Alama in East Darfur.
The Sudanese Journalists Syndicate have previously confirmed they were accused by both parties to the conflict of working for or affiliating with the other party, which in some cases resulted in the arrest of some journalists, assault and battery of others, to the point of murder and assassination.
