The National Umma Party welcomed the Nairobi Declaration between former Sudanese Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok, and head of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North, Abdelaziz al-Hilu, as well as the head of the Sudan Liberation Movement/Army, Abdul Wahid Nur, to stop the war and arrange for the establishment of civil authority.

The National Umma Party described the agreement as an effort towards ending the war, addressing the humanitarian catastrophe, protecting civilians, and restoring stability and democratic transformation.

The head of the Coordination-body of the Democratic and Civil Forces “TAGADOM” and former Sudanese Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok, signed with the head of the Sudan Liberation Movement/Army, Abdul Wahid Nur, in the Kenyan capital (Nairobi), a political declaration to stop the war and arrange for the establishment of civil authority in Sudan.

Both sides agreed to put forth efforts in the next stage to confront the risks threatening the country and find sustainable solutions to them.

The National Umma Party stated that the declaration included controversial issues to be discussed by the National Constitutional Conference, especially the nature of the State, the issue of religion, the state and identity, as well as the system of government, and their approval by an elected parliament.

The Party confirmed making efforts within “TAGADOM” for the success of the founding conference to conduct a transparent dialogue regarding the issues of rebuilding the Sudanese State.
