“TNOHRVS” informs international community
of aerial bombardment crimes
The National Observatory for Human Rights Violations – Sudan “TNOHRVS”, informed the international community of the crimes committed by the Sudanese Army against innocent civilians as a result of aerial bombardment.
The Observatory shared in a statement, a copy of which was obtained by “Assayha”: “We place in the hands of the international and regional community the war crimes committed by the Sudanese Army against innocent civilians -since the war broke out in Sudan- utilizing the Air Force, which has been targeting areas heavily populated with innocent civilians fleeing the hell of war in the country’s capital, Khartoum.”
The Observatory added that, in continuation of the series of horrific violations committed against citizens, on Saturday, May 11th 2024, tragic and unfortunate aerial attacks were carried out by the Sudanese Army aircrafts by dropping explosive barrels on the “Murkab” area southwest of the city of El-Obeid in North Kordofan state. All were carried out against unarmed civilians, resulting in the death of more than (34) women and children, whereas hundreds of citizens were wounded, including elderly people. In addition, the aerial attacks were responsible for killing thousands of livestock.”
The Observatory renewed their call to the international community and human rights organizations to condemn the massacres committed by the Army against Sudanese citizens.
The National Observatory urged the Sudanese Army to stop committing war crimes against humanity as well as to stop targeting civilians on the basis of race or color, so the history of what happened in Darfur and the Nuba Mountains before, in terms of war crimes committed by the Sudanese Air Force, would not repeat itself. That history created a tragic humanitarian situation from which the refugees and displaced people in the Blue Nile and Darfur regions have yet to recover from.
