The Unmistakable

Christine Shams writes...The Unmistakable

Following more than a year since the outbreak of the ongoing war, the Islamic Movement has failed unmistakably in marketing the reasons to justify this death and destruction. Sometimes they say it is a war to end the rebellion, and other times they claim it’s a war of dignity, but despite these false marketing tactics, the undoubted truth revealed is; this war was ignited by the ousted regime’s holdouts in retaliation against the Sudanese people for revolting against their dictatorial rule and toppling their flag.

Whilest all alliances with mercenary Armed Movements and extremist terrorist groups as well as using the Army and hijacking its decisions proved to be a failure in achieving any military difference on the ground in order to restore balance to this miserable regime.

They are bringing back the notorious so-called “Security Cell”, which is a distorted product of the Security and Intelligence Service and the jihadist “Al-Bara’ Brigade.” They were granted free rein to oppress citizens and abuse them under very vague pretexts. For they have cut off heads, mutilated bodies, burned farmers’ homes and crops, exterminated shepherds’ livestock, poisoned water sources in addition to the charges regarding the Strange Faces law.

*What is for God*

Discussing the Army’s fabricated victories no longer preoccupies people’s minds. Injustices have accumulated and the violations committed have increased, thus the attention has shifted to saving souls.

*What is for Caesar*

One of the phrases that has lost its luster is (one army, one people). Neither the army is one nor the people. Because the deliberate division within the Sudanese conscience and dragging people into the stagnant waters of tribalism has made this army into an entity that protects people of its own and points its rifle at the chests of others within the country.
