“Al-Bara’ Brigade” poses an ever-growing threat

Informed intelligence reports indicates that the extremist “Al-Bara’ bin Malik Brigade” has become a source of significant concern locally as well as internationally, especially for the State of Egypt, which borders Sudan, the State of Israel as well as the Gulf States.
Perhaps the observers’ concern is understandable, for this group has quickly advanced from being a sleeper cell with a limited number of members to a group with more than 21,000 members, and its name was thus promoted from a battalion to a brigade, according to the statement of the brigade commander, Al-Misbah Abu Zaid.
The privileges granted by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, to this extremist brigade and its commander is what made the threat grow and expand, which led various countries to turn their backs on the military establishment in their war against the Rapid Support Forces.
The battalion operates under the cover of the army and its leaders, receiving unlimited funding from the army establishment as well as from external groups with which it has ideological and doctrinal ties that facilitated its mission.
The decision to place the Popular Resistance under the command of the Al-Bara’ Brigade was issued by the Commander-in-Chief of the Army Forces, and thus these privileges facilitated the flow of weapons to its members and to other jihadist brigades allied with it under the pretext of popular resistance.
The same sources state that the advanced weapons possessed by the group are steadily increasing, independent of the military establishment, such as drones and a factory for modifying cannons, which makes the threat of this brigade significant to the local community, the military establishment, and neighboring countries alike.
