“Al-Burhan” relieves his Foreign Minister of duties
in response to international pressures
The Commander-in-chief of the Sudanese army, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan has officially relieved the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ali Al-Sadiq from his position and assigned his duties to Undersecretary Hussein Awad, as part of a plan orchestrated by the army to fulfill the demands of the international community by isolating elements of the former regime.
Al-Burhan relieved the acting Minister of his duties in response to international pressure exerted by Western and Arab countries, led by the United States of America, to further disengagement between the army and elements of the former regime.
Previously, the army Commander-in-chief and his deputy had expressed censure towards members of “Al-Bara’ Brigade” appearances in video clips, indicating that the Islamist members fighting alongside the army are only good at taking pictures.
