Al-Burhan” succumbs to “Terik’s”
demands regarding the governor of Kassala
The commander-in-chief of the Sudanese army, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, dismissed the governor of Kassala, Mohammed Musa, and appointed Maj. Gen. Al-Sadiq Mohammed Al-Azraq as his replacement, mere hours after a dispute broke out between the former governor and tribal leader Mohammed Al-Amin Terik.
Yesterday, Tuesday, the tribal leader and head of the High Council of Beja Nazirs and Independent Chieftains, Mohammed Al-Amin Terik, demanded the dismissal of the governor of Kassala, Mohammed Musa, from his position in the aftermath of the former governor’s press conference, in which he objected to the interference of the native administration in executive matters.
