A Victim killed by recruits in El-Gedaref

A young man was shot dead by Sudanese army recruits in El-Gedaref state following an attempt to disperse crowds who were objecting to the arrest of a person suspected of belonging to the Rapid Support Forces in Umm Synibra.

The arrest of the suspect took place following his acceptance of an invitation to break the fast from one of his relatives in the village of Umm Synibra in the rural locality of central Gedaref, while he was leaving the village on Friday evening.

Following the army’s arrival to apprehend the suspect, his family gathered to prevent his arrest, which prompted the soldiers to open fire at the crowd, leading to the unfortunate death of a young man.
