Civil servants in Port Sudan organized a protest vigil in front of the state governor’s office after organizing a protest vigil at the headquarters of the Ministry of Finance on Sunday in protest against the non-payment of salaries. Workers told Radio Dabanga that they had not received their salaries for three months, calling on the state government to speed up the disbursement of their salaries and financial benefits. The workers complained of harsh humanitarian conditions, noting that they were unable to buy food and medicine and that some of them had to evacuate their homes because they could not pay the rent.
